U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., wrote to TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew about his company's data storage practices, according to a letter obtained by Forbes. In the letter, Blackburn and Blumenthal reportedly pressed Chew regarding "incorrect claims" allegedly made to Congress about where the company stores U.S. users' data. "TikTok allowed private data about American users to be stored and accessed in China, despite repeated public assurances and Congressional testimony that TikTok data was kept in the United States," they said in their letter.
