Four U.S. government agencies have collaborated on a draft of the "Federal Data Strategy Year-1 Action Plan," which seeks to "align existing efforts and establish a firm basis of tools, processes, and capacities to leverage data as a strategic asset." The Office of Management and Budget, Office of Science and Technology Policy, Department of Commerce and Small Business Administration were each involved in the plan's crafting. The inaugural plan will implement the base of the Federal Data Strategy through 16 fundamental steps that work toward the preliminary goal of improving data management across government entities. The publishing agencies also set a July 5 deadline to submit feedback on the plan.
