U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines convened a listening session with civil liberties groups to discuss the potential renewal of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, CyberScoop reports. Attendees included the American Civil Liberties Union, the Project on Government Oversight, the Electronic Privacy Information Center, and the Center for Democracy and Technology. Without Congressional reauthorization, Section 702 will expire December 2023.
