U.S. data analytics firm Palantir is a top-bidder for the main data provider contract for the U.K. National Health Service, the Financial Times reports. The contract's total value would be 360 million GBP. Reportedly, the company’s pursuit of the NHS contract alarmed privacy advocates and staff. Plantir, best known for its ties to the security, defense and intelligence sectors, took over as NHS’ main data analytics provider during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and also secured a 23.5 million GBP contract to deal with waiting lists in December 2020.
