The Hill reports the U.S. Court of Appeals District of Columbia Circuit has ruled that two class-action suits involving federal workers can continue against the Office of Personnel Management over a 2015 data breach that affected 22 million people. The court found that OPM's lack of safeguards on its systems was directly responsible for past and ongoing damages the plaintiffs have been subject to as a result of the breach. The court also found that OPM still has not secured its systems since the breach, which occurred in 2014. Also, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit in San Francisco, California, has denied Facebook's appeal to dismiss a lawsuit regarding its data breach involving more than 29 million users, Bloomberg reports.
