  • The U.S. Federal Trade Commission finalized its settlement with Everalbum over violations related to the unlawful use of facial recognition, MediaPost reports. According to the settlement, the company will delete raw data collected and the algorithms from user-uploaded pictures and videos.
  • Rep. Dylan Fernandes, D-Mass., introduced House Bill 117, An Act to provide facial recognition accountability and comprehensive enforcement, Government Technology reports. The bill covers deployments by private businesses and allows for fines up to $5,000 from the attorney general's office.
  • Government Technology also reports King County, Washington, opted to postpone a vote on a facial recognition ban. Officials claim to need more research before voting on the matter.
