The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency warn of a potential increase in ransomware attacks against the health care industry. The agencies found evidence of an "imminent cybercrime threat to U.S. hospitals and healthcare providers," particularly through the use of TrickBot and BazarLoader malware to launch ransomware attacks. The agencies advise health care organizations be mindful of cybersecurity investments and offered best practices to mitigate the risk of an incident.
