New privacy settings to be rolled out by Ring will let users block the smart-home security company from sharing some of their data, CBS News reports. The change follows a study that found Ring shares users’ personal data — including names and email addresses, when the Ring doorbell app is in use, and device model numbers — with Facebook and other third parties without user consent. A company spokesperson said users will be able to opt out of those sharing agreements “where applicable.”
