Michigan state officials have said that up to 1.87 million workers' personal data, including Social Security numbers, may have been compromised in a breach, The Associated Press reports. The breach stemmed from an unemployment computer system update that allowed third-party payroll vendors and employers accidental and unauthorized access to the data for more than three and a half months, the report states. “There is no evidence at this time of any wrongdoing by anyone who had the ability to see the personal information, though the investigation continues,” said Unemployment Insurance Agency spokesman Dave Murray. Meanwhile, InterContinental Hotels Group confirmed a breach via payment systems at 12 of its hotels nationwide, Reuters reports.
