As data breaches persist, Kromtech Security Researchers reports that an unsecured Amazon S3 repository leaked an estimated 47 gigabytes of medical data, including records of at least 150,000 patients, SlashGear reports. An unsecured S3 repository is also to blame for Accenture’s recent data breach that resulted in the loss of “highly sensitive passwords and secret decryption keys that could have inflicted considerable damage on the company and its customers.” Finally, a recent breach of Deloitte’s server potentially affected the emails of an estimated 350 clients, including four U.S. government departments, the United Nations and some of the world’s biggest multinationals.
