Indian-based education technology companies are under fire regarding insufficient children's privacy, Rest of World reports. Member of Indian Parliament Karti Chidambaram said individual companies and those working under the India EdTech Consortium received advisories to comply with government-supplied advertising guidelines, but added the government "needs to do much more quickly." The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration's Eldho Mathews said much is unknown about data collection practices by these companies and "there are concerns that (applications) could be collecting data to track behavior of their students."
