Politico reports all 193 members of the United Nations' Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization signed off on draft recommendations for appropriate artificial intelligence ethics. UNESCO proposed ethical impact assessments for AI deployments as well as tasking governments with devising “strong enforcement mechanisms and remedial actions." Deployments like social scoring tools and facial recognition systems are the focus of the recommendations. China is among the notable UNESCO members to pledge in favor of the recommendations.
