Joseph Cannataci, the United Nations’ Special Rapporteur on the right to privacy, is examining children’s privacy rights. The focus is on “how privacy affects the evolving capacity of the child and the growth of autonomy, and what factors enhance or constrain this development.” Submissions related to privacy rights of children under 18 are being sought from interested stakeholders through Sept. 30. A report will be presented to the Human Rights Council in March 2021.
