The Financial Times reports the U.K. government intends to create a new regulator to monitor big tech companies following next year's Brexit. The new regulator will be charged with various enforcement responsibilities, including the creation and implementation of codes of conduct and improving data accessibility for consumers. The new position comes after a review that examined big tech and the “emergence of powerful new companies” in the space. “There is an emerging international consensus around the scope of new regulation.
