The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office and New Zealand's Office of the Privacy Commissioner announced a Memorandum of Understanding regarding collaboration on cross-border enforcement issues. The MOU will allow the two offices to share relevant information and intelligence but no personal information on common matters while abiding by principles for collaboration. U.K. Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham said the OPC is a "fitting and natural partner," and New Zealand Commissioner John Edwards said teaming with the ICO is a "symbolic step in mutual collaboration."
