The U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office started a second consultation on the draft journalism code. The code is intended to offer “practical guidance” for media organizations and reporters to comply with data protection regulations when using personal data for journalistic purposes. Following the first consultation on the draft code that ended in January, the ICO incorporated feedback from stakeholders, which included establishing the distinction between "legal requirements and good practice," creating a reference guide and making the code “more user-friendly with plainer language.”
