The U.K. House of Lords Justice and Home Affairs Committee issued a “call for evidence” on facial recognition and biometrics issues, Biometric Update reports. The committee is seeking input from experts, exploring the use of biometrics and facial recognition in law enforcement and surveillance. The call for evidence is open until 5 Sept. Professor of Law and Criminal Justice at Northumbria Law School Carole McCartney said there are questions surrounding bias and how data is handled.
