BBC News reports on comments made Sunday by Home Secretary Amber Rudd about law enforcement access to encrypted services in the aftermath of last week's terrorist attack in London. "We need to make sure that organisations like WhatsApp, and there are plenty of others like that, don't provide a secret place for terrorists to communicate with each other," she said during BBC One's Andrew Marr Show. According to the report, the London attacker may have used WhatsApp just prior to his attack. A WhatsApp spokeswoman said the company was "horrified at the attack" and is cooperating with the investigation. However, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said authorities already have "huge powers" and that there must be a balance between the "right to know" and the "right to privacy." The U.K. government plans to meet with tech companies this week.
