Members of Parliament who launched an 18-month investigation into tech giants are prepared to continue their work for the foreseeable future, ITPro reports. The U.K. Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport select committee announced the creation of a subgroup to focus on themes raised during the investigation, building off its report filed in February regarding issues of disinformation and data privacy brought on by big tech companies. "Since beginning our investigations, tech companies have only shifted superficially in their approach to privacy, and only for the benefit of their own PR," DCMS Select Committee Chairman Damian Collins said. "It's unacceptable and we must keep up the pressure for them to shift their approach to ensure people and their rights are protected."
