In a settlement with the California Public Utilities Commission, Uber will pay a $9 million fine and provide data about riders and drivers who were sexually assaulted, The Verge reports. Potentially identifying data will be removed. The CPUC originally fined Uber $59 million in December 2020 after the company did not to provide specific details on a report that included data on assaults during trips taken with the service.
