  • Google announced its Bard conversational artificial intelligence assistant is accessible in 180 countries and territories, excluding Canada and the European Union, ARS Technica reports. The company says it will "gradually expand to more countries and territories in a way that is consistent with local regulations and our AI principles."
  • U.S. lawmakers are considering several options to regulate AI, but the consensus remains uncertain, Reuters reports. While some proposals include regulating AI in critical areas like medicine and finance, others are focused on ensuring the technology isn't used for instances of discrimination or civil rights violations. 
  • In an op-ed for Government Technology, Presidio Field Chief Information Security Officer for Public Sector Dan Lohrmann writes AI is "a work in progress for all of us." His advice? "Get on board this GenAI boat that is leaving the dock fast, at least to learn the new rules that are emerging for the tech and cyber industries."
