Reuters reports U.S. border agents will be required to wear body cameras over the coming months. The cameras will be used in parts of New Mexico and Texas this summer, expanding to Arizona, California, Vermont and Texas’ Rio Grande Valley in the fall. A privacy assessment said footage could be retained for up to 75 years in cases where it could be used as evidence in a criminal case, and otherwise deleted within 180 days. President of the National Border Patrol Council Brandon Judd said agents should have access to the footage.
