The U.K. government won't act on the proposed Data Protection and Digital Information Bill during the current parliamentary session, Politico reports. A source said the bill will sit idle as the new Department for Science, Innovation and Technology gets acclimated and devises its agenda. The government said in November 2022 the bill was to be offered for limited stakeholder consultation sometime during the final months of last year, but it's unclear whether that comment period materialized.
