Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a workplace security necessity, Duo Security’s Steve Manzuik explains in an interview with ReadWrite. Citing ease of implementation, user understanding, relative inexpensiveness and “future proof” relevancy among its advantages, Manzuik urges companies to grasp the necessity of requiring an additional step in verifying credentials, noting that data breaches, more often than not, are catalyzed by too-simple passwords or mnemonic sticky notes left in plain sight. Manzuik details the selling points of 2FA—including its simplicity and its use to simplify password policies—noting, “I don’t think there is any better bang for your security buck.”
