Japan’s Narita International Airport and Haneda Airport installed facial recognition technology at baggage and security checkpoints, The Japan Times reports. The “Face Express” system enables travelers to pass through checkpoints without showing passports or tickets. Travelers’ photos are taken at check-in and data is deleted within 24 hours of registration.
