Twitter’s latest Transparency Report showed that the platform received approximately 80 percent more global legal demands, with 87 percent of the total global volume originating from Russia and Turkey. In a blog post, the company said it continued to evolve its reporting process to include more than government requests. The 13th biannual report includes a new section devoted to data insights surrounding Twitter Rules enforcement and marks the first time the company has published metrics on combating platform manipulation. The report covers the time period spanning January through June 2018.
