Twitter announced a security glitch that allowed users a chance to identify other users who tweeted under assumed names, MediaPost reports. Company officials said the vulnerability was discovered in January, but it had been open for the previous seven months. The glitch allowed a user to enter an email address or phone number into Twitter’s system to find out the account associated with those login credentials. The company became aware of the glitch when an individual sought to sell account information they obtained.
