Turkey's data protection authority, the Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu, issued a statement on transborder data transfers under the country's data protection law. When data is sent overseas, the KVKK said its board will determine whether the receiving country has adequate measures in place to protect citizens' data. The KVKK also said binding corporate rules are an appropriate data transfer mechanism and can be used to send information to countries where an adequacy decision has not been reached by the European Commission.
