Mobile analytics company Tune has announced Saira Nayak, CIPP/US, CIPP/E, will serve as chief privacy officer (CPO), MediaPost reports. Nayak, formerly of TRUSTe, will ensure Tune’s privacy and security practices are up-to-date and plans to create a set of best practices for the company’s advertising clients and ad-network partners, the report states. “I want to get to a point where we are a leader in terms of the practices we espouse,” she said. Tune CEO Peter Hamilton said the company started searching for a CPO in March, shortly after Facebook removed Tune from its mobile ad measurement program, reportedly for retaining data too long and not ensuring its privacy practices were appropriately disclosed to users. Editor’s Note: Watch for an upcoming exclusive with Saira Nayak in The Privacy Advisor.
