Newly released documents show that U.S. President Donald Trump’s voter fraud commission not only requested voter registration data but added that all voters with Hispanic surnames be flagged in Texas and paid officials about $3,500 for 49.6 million records, The Washington Post reports. While it is reported that commission policy advisor Ronald Williams II requested that Hispanic names be flagged in the process, the commission's chairman, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, said it was not a committee-wide decision. The report states that the commission, which was disbanded earlier this month, faces at least ten lawsuits by voting and public accountability groups, “seeking information on what other data the panel may have assembled, if any analysis was done and whether information has been shared outside the White House.” (Registration may be required to access this story.)
