U.S. President Donald Trump said the U.S. should levy fines against tech companies in a similar manner to the penalties enforced by EU regulators, CNBC reports. Trump said the U.S. should emulate the activity from EU regulators as tech companies face antitrust investigations. “I think it’s a bad situation, obviously,” Trump said. “But I think there is something going on in terms of monopoly.” The president’s comments come after the House Committee on the Judiciary, Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice all launched antitrust investigations of the tech industry.
