ByteDance began accepting claims from TikTok users following the preliminary approval of the company's $92 million payout to settle a lawsuit alleging data had been taken from users without notice, NBC News reports. Starting Nov. 15, TikTok pushed notifications to users about their ability to file a claim for the settlement if they were a resident of the U.S. and created TikTok videos before Oct. 1. The settlement is a combination of 21 total lawsuits, including several alleging violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
