In a letter to Republican U.S. senators, TikTok Chief Executive Shou Zi Chew said the platform is nearing final agreement with the U.S. government on a data-sharing plan that would “fully safeguard user data and U.S. national security interests,” NPR reports. Chew said “100% of U.S. user data” is now stored by default in the U.S.-based Oracle cloud environment, and TikTok plans to delete U.S. data from its servers.
