ByteDance, parent company to TikTok, is readying a deal worth hundreds of millions of dollars to settle U.S. privacy violations, Bloomberg reports. The settlement comes in regard to TikTok's alleged unlawful collection of children's facial images and the transfer of adults' sensitive information to China. A final settlement will be filed within 90 days, but the potential exclusion of plaintiffs in California may hamper the finalization. Meanwhile, in California, Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer announced a privacy settlement over alleged location tracking by The Weather Channel application.
