Euractiv reports what may happen to the EU personal data TikTok possesses once its Irish data center is operational. TikTok Director of Government Relations and Public Policy in Europe Theo Bertram said the data center will only house information collected after it goes live and suggested all EU data collected beforehand will stay in its U.S. and Singapore locations. A TikTok press representative later said all information that has been gathered from European users throughout the company's lifetime will be stored in the Irish location.
