Following accusations that customer data had been used to manipulate streaming numbers, streaming service Tidal launched an internal investigation into the security of its customer data, Spin reports. Tidal CEO Richard Sanders stated the company continues to “reject and deny” accusations that it manipulated data and that a third-party cybersecurity firm has been contracted to investigate a potential data breach. Meanwhile, MedEvolve announced a misconfigured server exposed the data of 205,000 patients from two separate providers. And a class-action lawsuit has been filed at a U.S. district court against SunTrust Bank for failing to secure and protect customers' personal information and for failing to provide appropriate notice in the wake of the data breach that exposed 1.5 million customer records.
