Privacy Commissioner of Canada Daniel Therrien released his "2019–2020 Annual Report," and with it came a familiar call for the federal government to revamp the country's privacy laws. It is a call Therrien has made before, but this time, it comes under the veil of the COVID-19 pandemic. In a news conference on the report's release, Therrien explained how the pandemic has exposed blind spots in the current federal legislation and why now may be the time for an update.
