In a highly anticipated speech Tuesday, British Prime Minister Theresa May outlined her plans for Brexit. Though she made it clear the U.K. will withdraw from the EU and the single market, she did say it will retain the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, V3 reports. She pointed out that "not everybody will be able to know everything at every stage. But I recognise how important it is to provide business, the public sector, and everybody with as much certainty as possible as we move through the process." The report states, "As part of this process, existing EU laws in force in the U.K. would be converted into full U.K. laws. That, effectively, means that the ... GDPR will be law in the U.K., too."
