The Guardian reports on the intersection between U.K. Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham and the U.S. investigation lead by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Last week, the ICO announced it intended to fine Facebook for its sharing of information with Cambridge Analytica, and the U.S. special counsel announced the indictment of 12 Russian intelligence officers for their role in the 2016 presidential election. "There is an overlap between what the special counsel is doing in the US and what Denham is doing in the UK," the report states, "and what became clear last week is that there is a zone of convergence between the two." According to the report, there is "an ongoing channel of communication between them." Denham and her deputy spent last week with law enforcement agencies in the U.S., including with the FBI, the report states.
