The Reform Government Surveillance coalition — a group of technology companies, including Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Twitter — wants the U.S. Senate "to act promptly on the nominations of Adam Klein, Ed Felten, and Jane Nitze to be members of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board." The accountability and transparency that the PCLOB provides, the group contends, bolster trust in the U.S. and around the world. The coalition "also urges the president to nominate as soon as possible a qualified individual for the fifth PCLOB member vacancy."
