Switzerland's Parliament voted to adopt the revisions to the country's Federal Act on Data Protection. The revisions passed by a 141–54 vote and will modernize the 28-year-old law to be more closely aligned to laws in the EU. The Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner voiced its support for the decision and will release a more detailed statement when the referendum period has expired.
