The Swedish Data Inspection Authority, the Datainspektionen, plans to investigate the use of facial-recognition technology at a Skelleftea school, Telecompaper reports. The Anderstorp school has used facial recognition to take attendance. Datainspektionen Legal Adviser Ranja Bunni will lead the inquiry to see whether the school is in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The authority seeks to find out what personal information has been collected, the way the technology has been used, and whether the school board conducted a risk assessment for the technology.
