An Equinix survey shows 64 percent of Swedish chief technology officers use private networks to communicate with partners, Computer Weekly reports. “Their ability to create digital connections directly to business partners in and outside Sweden can determine who will break into the new digital business world and who will not. The traditional networks, such as the internet, will not be sufficient for this growing data exchange,” Equinix CEO Maria Sundvall said. Equinix estimates more traffic will exist on the private networks within a few years, while nearly half the world's gross domestic product will go digital by 2021. The survey also revealed 54 percent of CTOs consider security threats their greatest concern, while 31 percent prioritize meeting regulatory demands.
