As watchmaker Swatch prepares to release its own “smart watch,” the CEO Nick Hayek has taken issue with the privacy of the Apple Watch, telling a Swiss newspaper, “The Apple Watch is an interesting toy, but not a revolution,” according to Apple Insider. An Apple Watch “user immediately loses control of their data.” However, it is “not immediately clear how familiar Hayek is with the Apple Watch’s actual functionality,” the report continues. Swatch does not plan to include health-tracking, the report states, with Hayek noting, “I cannot accept the responsibility of whether my device warns a customer in time before a heart attack.”
