A survey created by EURACTIV and Burson Cohn & Wolfe found European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager is the favorite to replace Jean-Claude Juncker as the next president of the European Commission. Vestager received 20 percent of the votes from respondents who were asked to name the most likely candidate to succeed Juncker. The competition commissioner was the only member of Juncker’s team to receive an approval rating of more than 50 percent from survey participants. “Many see [Vestager] as the brightest star of the Juncker Commission,” Burson Cohn & Wolfe said in the results of the survey.
