Tresorit released results of a YouGov survey that shows the trust in big tech companies is low among people in the U.S. and the U.K. The poll of 3,580 U.S. and U.K. respondents reveals that 40% of people do not believe big tech companies can properly or lawfully manage data, while two-thirds of all respondents fear their data is at risk of being exposed. Faith in individual companies varied, but no company received more than 28% trust in the survey. Amazon and Microsoft received the highest trust ratings at 28% and 24% respectively, while Instagram and Dropbox were least trustworthy at 7% and 9%. More than 50% of respondents say that digital privacy would be vastly improved with end-to-end encryption.
