A survey conducted by the Institute of Directors in Ireland examined the state of organizations’ EU General Data Protection Regulation preparation, RTÉ reports. Of the respondents, 32 percent of company directors said their organization started their GDPR prep work within the last three months, with 12 percent saying they started within the last month. When asked about the rules, 25 percent said their level of understanding of the GDPR was either fair or poor, while 27 percent said their organization is either slightly prepared for the regulation or not prepared at all. "Given the significant compliance requirements, as well as potential fines and sanctions, the level of preparedness and understanding of the GDPR among some directors at this late stage is concerning," Institute of Directors in Ireland CEO Maura Quinn said.
