A survey conducted by Black Book Market Research examined the state of health care data security programs, HealthITSecurity reports. The majority of the 2,500 health care security professionals polled for the survey found their programs do not have the proper level of funding and staffing to handle cyberthreats, with cybersecurity spending falling to around 3 percent of the total annual IT budget. The survey found 4 percent of companies has a committee dedicated to examining the impact of cybersecurity investments, while 60 percent of organizations said they do not have a specific cybersecurity plan.
