A Consumer Reports study found privacy and data security are of increasing concern for U.S. consumers when purchasing new products and services. The February 2020 survey of 5,085 U.S. adults found 74% is concerned about personal data privacy, while 96% said companies should do more to protect consumer privacy. Consumer Reports Digital Lab Director Ben Moskowitz said the study “shows that raising the standard for privacy and security is a win-win for consumers and the companies.”
