A study conducted by Talend found the majority of businesses did not adhere to the data subject access request rule in the EU General Data Protection Regulation, MediaPost reports. Talend sent data subject access requests to 103 companies, finding 70 percent of the companies did not send them copies of the data they asked for within the one-month time limit. When broken down by region, 35 percent of European companies fulfilled the requests on time compared to 50 percent outside of the area. By industry, retailers had the worst record of compliance, with 76 percent failing to respond to requests.
